Each collegiate Alpha Chi chapter functions with a primary chapter advisor who serves as a student advisor and a liaison to the national office. The chapter advisor is responsible for overseeing all aspects of local chapter life. Many chapters also elect assistant advisors who help the primary advisor with these duties. Assistant advisors and administrative support personnel should have their own CMS profiles. Alpha Chi depends on and appreciates everything our chapter advisors do to make membership in Alpha Chi a possibility for deserving students on each campus.

A chapter advisor's key responsibilities are to:

  • INVITE— Identify and invite eligible students to join your chapter of Alpha Chi.
  • INDUCT— Organize a public induction ceremony for new members at least once per academic year.
  • PROMOTE— Promote Alpha Chi on campus, on social media, and through media releases.
  • CULTIVATE— Foster student research by making scholarship nominations and selecting presenters for national conventions.
  • FACILITATE— Facilitate student leadership by mentoring student officers and helping members plan regular academic and service events.
  • COMMUNICATE— File the Annual Chapter Report and maintain communication with Alpha Chi's national office to stay abreast of opportunities to share with student members.

Chapter Grants

Alpha Chi has an annual fund of $7,000 for chapter activity grants that can help finance your next chapter event. Each chapter may apply for one chapter activity grant per year, so encourage your chapter members to apply for a grant for an upcoming event!

Alpha Chi has two publications open for member submissions: Aletheia, an online, peer-reviewed, undergraduate research journal; and Kalo, our community magazine. Submissions to both publications are accepted any time.

Each chapter advisor should be set up to receive email notifications in the Alpha Chi Chapter Management System (CMS) powered by GreekTrack. If you’re an advisor and aren’t receiving periodic "Advisor Zone" emails, please send an “add me” request to office@alphachihonor.org. If you no longer work with Alpha Chi on your campus and wish to be removed, send that request to the same address.
