Alpha Chi holds a biennial national convention where chapters from across the country gather to celebrate student scholarship in an interdisciplinary conference of academic and creative member presentations. It’s held in the spring in a popular destination city. The next National Convention will be held at the Embassy Suites by Hilton in Little Rock, Arkansas, March 30 to April 1, 2028.

This three-day event gathers scholars from around the country to share their work, with many students presenting to a national audience for the very first time. With nearly one hundred member presentations, a collaborative research team competition, keynote speakers, academic and social networking, a host of awards and prizes, member and advisor development sessions, and opportunities to explore a fabulous city. An Alpha Chi convention is a one-of-a-kind scholar's experience where you can nerd out and access a variety of exciting disciplines and gain inspiration from other students and faculty from across the country!

Alpha Chi wants each chapter to experience the National Convention and encourages every chapter to send at least one student member and one chapter advisor. Not only is our convention fee discounted, but national subsidies in the form of reimbursements can save chapters hundreds of dollars and allow them to bring even more student scholars. See our Past Conventions page linked above to access a convention information packet from previous years to see how convention housing and travel grants can help your chapter send its delegation.

Convention Participation Funding

For in-person conventions, chapters have access to generous grants that can make the cost of attendance—including travel and lodging—more manageable on a college student’s budget. Ask your chapter advisor for more information.
